Our Story
Built from brick and with a quiet purpose, The Inn began as an officers’ mess. It served those who served, offering a ceremony without show. Formal dinners. Shared stories. The sound of polished boots on hardwood.
The lighting was warm. The ceilings are high. The welcome, unwavering. Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were received here before her coronation, but it wasn’t just for royalty. Every day brought new stories, new reasons to gather.
As CFB Calgary was decommissioned, many buildings on the base were lost to time. The Inn could’ve faded, too. But it remained intact, beloved, and patiently waiting.
Instead of repurposing the space, its soul was preserved. Original fireplaces, curved ceilings, and heritage woodwork remain, now joined by boutique hotel rooms, elegant dining spaces, and gardens designed to gather.
Today, The Inn is open to everyone, not just military personnel or hotel guests. Whether you come for brunch, a weekend away, or a quiet drink under the trees, you’re entering something rare: a living piece of Calgary’s past, still in service.

Not many restaurants in Calgary can say Queen Elizabeth II stayed upstairs. Fewer still have hosted dignitaries under the same roof for nearly a century.
You don’t need a dress code or a military connection. You don’t even need a reason. The Inn is open daily to the public for breakfast, brunch, bookings, or just a glass of wine.
Each dining and event space is architecturally unique, featuring a wine cellar lined with bottles, a glass conservatory with garden views, and a former officers’ bar complete with dartboards and TV screens.
Most hotels aim for efficiency. We strive for memory. It’s common here to be greeted by name or to leave knowing someone else’s.
