ROYALTY STAYED HERE
Hours:
The Officers’ Mess welcomed many important figures over its history including prime ministers and military leaders from across Canada. Maybe the most recognizable name is H.R.H. Princess Elizabeth and her husband H.R.H. The Duke of Edinburgh. Mayor Don MacKay organized a Stampede Chuckwagon & Bucking Broncos event for the Royal visit in October, 1951 and the pair returned to the Officers’ Mess that evening… staying in what is now the romantic ‘QE II Royal Suite’ at The Inn.

Great meal, wonderful service, historical gem! The four of us had a tasty meal with good adult beverages. Service was over the top as all the staff seemed to compete with who could serve us the best! To top it off, we toured the Officers' Garden and then stayed in a 'royal suite’ … this is a destination that Calgarians and travellers alike should visit to gain appreciation of the local history and have a delightful outing at the same time! ~ Brian C.
